View our photo essay, which captures our city “on pause”
These past few months have been a period of tragedy for many people around the world. For others it’s been a time of solitude and reflection. As the virus put the world’s economies on pause, we left our office on March 11 and carried on remotely without missing a beat.
During this time our Executive Creative Director created Pause, a photo essay that documents the beauty and incongruities of a moment when life suddenly did just that for a city of millions. We hope you enjoy this gift of Richard’s photography.
As we reboot and move forward, our city faces a new reality: the need to coexist with a virus that requires us to consider the well-being of others along with our own. That consideration of others’ safety also demands that we take action to ensure equality and justice for all New Yorkers.
This photo essay is dedicated to the heroic efforts and many sacrifices of our healthcare professionals and essential workers, who for months have been saving lives under dangerous conditions.
We look forward to reconnecting with each of you as the next normal develops, here and throughout the world.
